Fruit Punch

qts. orange juice
2 qts. pineapple juice
2 liters lemon-lime soda
1/2 cup grenadine |
ice
1 medium orange, sliced
1 medium lemon, sliced
1 medium lime, sliced |
Combine juices, soda, and grenadine
in punch bowl. Add ice. Lay slices of fruit on ice to garnish.
Serves 40. |
Warm Milk
Punch with Indian Spices

4 cups water
8 whole cloves
4 whole cardamom pods
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
1 cinnamon stick
1 1/4-inch thick slice fresh ginger |
3 bags Darjeeling tea
(or 3 tablespoons
Darjeeling tea leaves)
1 cup low-fat milk
1/4 cup sugar
4 3x1/2-inch strips orange peel
additional cinnamon sticks (optional) |
Combine first 6 ingredients in medium saucepan and bring to boil.
Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 10 minutes. Add tea bags or
leaves and remove saucepan from heat. Cover pan and let mixture
steep 30 minutes. Strain liquid into another saucepan. Add milk
and sugar to tea. Bring to simmer, stirring until sugar
dissolves. Divide punch among 4 glasses. Garnish with orange
peel strips and additional cinnamon sticks, if desired. Serves
4. |
Egg Nog

24 eggs, separated
2 cups sugar
1 quart Bourbon
2 cups Brandy |
1 quart heavy cream
2 quarts milk
1 quart vanilla ice cream
nutmeg |
Beat
egg yolks and sugar until thick. Add Bourbon and Brandy and stir
thoroughly. (The liquor "cooks" the eggs.) Add cream and milk
and continue whipping. Break up the ice cream and add. Beat egg
whites until stiff and fold in. Refrigerate for at least 30
minutes before serving. Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg. Serves 30. |
