Spiked Cider

1 quart water
3 orange spice tea bags
1/2 cup light brown sugar
2 cups apple cider |
1 1/2 cups light rum
8 cinnamon sticks
3 teaspoons butter |
Pour water into a large saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove
from heat and toss in the orange spice tea bags. Cover andlet
steep 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and stir in sugar,
applecider, rum, and 2 of the
cinnamon sticks. Heat just to steaming -- do not boil.-- Ladle
hot cider into 6 mugs and drop 1/2 teaspoon
butter into each. Garnish with a cinnamon 'swizzle'
stick. Serves 6.

Mexican Coffee

3/4 cup ground dark roast coffee
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
6 cups water
1 cup milk 1/3 cup chocolate |
2 tbs. light brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
whipped cream
a dash of ground cinnamon to garnish |
Place cinnamon in the filter
basket when you brew your coffee. In a saucepan, blend milk,
chocolate sryup & brown sugar. Stir over low heat, until sugar
dissolves. Combine milk mixture and brewed coffee; stir in
vanilla. Garnish w/whipped cream and the dash of cinnamon.
Serves 6.

Cranberry Tea I

3 teaspoons instant tea
powder
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
6 cups boiling water |
1 (3
ounce) package cherry flavored gelatin
1 cup orange juice
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 quart cranberry juice
1/2 cup white sugar |
Place the instant tea,
allspice, cinnamon and nutmeg in a bag and steep in the boiling
water for 5 minutes. Stir in the cherry gelatin and let
mixture cool. Add the orange juice, lemon juice, cranberry
juice and sugar. Mix until sugar is dissolved. Serve
warm, keep any extra in the refrigerator. |
